So as you’ve probably realized, cannabis is now legal throughout Thailand and you probably have a lot of burning questions! Here is a quick-to-read summary that will set you straight.
1) Is cannabis legal in Thailand?
Answer: Cannabis is indeed legal throughout Thailand with a few restrictions. It’s mostly common sense but here are the basics. Recreational usage of cannabis is discouraged strongly, so while you can easily walk into many stores and buy cannabis now, no questions asked, you should not be seen consuming it in public, you should be over the age of 21, and certainly should not drive under the influence. Any of the above is just asking for trouble. If you consume cannabis in a private location you will have no problems whatsoever.
2) Will I get in trouble for driving and holding cannabis on my person?
Answer: If you are transporting cannabis from a dispensary to your home, you won’t have any issues, however if you’re transporting a big amount along with a group of friends, alcohol and it looks like it’s not for medical use… you may run into problems. Just remember medical use is what the legalization aims to promote.
3) Will I get into trouble if I am openly smoking cannabis at a party?
Answer: It depends if you are bothering your neighbors or not, common sense rules apply.
4) Where can I purchase cannabis?
Answer: There are stores all over the place however quality will vary a lot, as will the price and value you are getting. Why not try our curated craft cannabis which is the very best quality? You can find it here, delivery will be within an hour. Or check our list of recommended dispensaries.
5) Whats the going rate of cannabis?
Answer: This varies a lot, the very cheapest cannabis tends to be the Thai strain since it was grown in such huge amounts, but we’ve found the quality to generally be very poor, but if you’re lucky to find a professional and organic grower of the strain, it can be enjoyable and still cheap at around 250 thb per gram for the best version of it. The top-shelf cannabis can go as high as 900 thb per gram, but we find this over-priced and you can find top-shelf cannabis for 550 thb per gram if you know where to look, (such as our store).
6) Are there any cannabis delivery services?
Answer: Depending on where you are but it’s not difficult to find stores offering delivery.
7) What’s the best way to store cannabis?
Answer: In Thailand, the humidity is very high so we recommend keeping your cannabis in an air-conditioned room but ideally also keeping a packet of Boveda 62 inside of your weed bag or jar. We sell these in our store.
